First off, today Isabel is 11 months old. Although it is hard to think about the days we have missed with her....we are so thankful that we will be able to be with her on her first birthday.
Second, the Consulate did not send an appointment for our travel group today, however our agency believes that we will hear something very early next week. (For those of you keeping track...although it is unlikely, it is possible we could leave as early as June 11th!)
Third, my two best friends from college are arriving this evening as they and my sister are throwing my first baby shower. It will be great to see them again as it has been a while since the three of us have been together.
Lastly (and most importantly) Jeff and I received a wonderful surprise today. Our agency sent us an update on Isabel. Her caretaker took a couple pictures of her two weeks ago (May 15) and sent them for us, along with some updated information on her height, weight, etc.
The caretakers are not required to do this, so it was very touching to know that she took the time to update us. We are so happy to see that she is smiling and looks like she is being well taken care of, and loved very much. As of May 15, she weighs about 17 pounds and is about 27.5 inches long. Also, she has 4 teeth!
This has been a wonderful day. We are truly blessed.

Love the adorable photos of smiley little Isabel!! Enjoy your shower this weekend and your time with friends and family...you have waited a long time for this, and I know it will be a very special celebration. I am so sorry I can't be there, and can hardly wait to hear all about it!
OH MY GOD!! What a wonderful surprise to get updated pics and such. Love that she is smiling and just all ready for you to come and get her! That is good stuff. Can't wait to see your pics from the shower.
