In my "now what?" post I described how the next item we were waiting for was our TA. Well, we got some great news today....the TAs have arrived!
This doesn't answer the question...when do we leave? Or, how long will we be there? Nor do we even know exactly where we will be flying into in China. But what is DOES tell us is that we are one step closer. And actually, this is a pretty big step.
As soon as our agency received our TA, they sent a request to the Consulate in China asking for a date for us to meet with them to finalize our paperwork. The Consulate can take anywhere from 1-6 business days to reply with a confirmation or an alternate date. That means that we can hear something from the Consulate as early as tomorrow or as late as next Friday.
Once the Consulate replies, our agency will call us and be able to answer all of the above questions. Since the call informing of us of our itinerary can be as early as 7 days out from our departure date....we could leave pretty darned soon. Jeff and I are "guesstimating" that we could leave to get Isabel anywhere from June 13 - June 20.
So seriously...guess I had better start packing that suitcase eh?
Our blog started as a way to allow our friends and family to follow our journey to adopt our daughter from China. Isabel is now home with us and we love that we are a family of three. In fact, we have been so busy having fun with Isabel that we have not kept our blog up to date...but it is time to dust off the keyboard, as we invite you to follow us on our second journey to China. Soon we will become three and a highchair!

WOW - you better get suitcase stuffing!!!! That is wonderful news. Mazing how different agencies are huh? We probably won't travel until mid July. Stinks.
